Ah spring... everything feels vibrant, sunny, and renewed as we bid goodbye to dreary winter. There's no better way to welcome spring than enjoying a vacation on the beach in one of our Gulf Shores condos or Orange Beach rentals, where the weather is beautiful and everyone from age 18 to 65 can enjoy festivals, parties, and long holiday weekends. The average spring temperatures range from the high 60s in March to the upper 70s to low 80s in May. No matter if you're traveling with family or friends, you'll find something that makes your spring vacation memorable and restorative.
Birds & Wildlife
Spring is a great time to go birding or spot other wildlife on a trail walk in one of the nature preserves near Gulf Shores. Many birds that are native to the region or just passing through can be spotted in the springtime. The Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge has four trails that visitors can walk to explore a variety of habitats from dunes to swamps and maritime forest. There's no better weather for a good hike.
Fishing & More
Grouper, Spanish mackerel, and crab are a few of the delightful sea meats you can find in season in the spring. Take a chartered fishing trip or just go to some of Gulf Shores' most popular seafood restaurants and markets to indulge. Also take advantage of the beautiful weather to play a few holes on one of the many world class golf courses in the area. Beat the crowds and the heat by taking a spring vacation with one of our Gulf Shores rentals or Orange Beach condos as your base.
Family Holiday Weekends
Easter and Memorial Day make for great spring vacations on the beach. Rent a family-size condo or beach house and take advantage of a long weekend to spend some quality time. Enjoy the sun and sand and temperate waters that range from 69 degrees in early April to 76 degrees in May. Hit the seafood markets to buy fresh or cooked seafood in bulk to feed hungry mouths all weekend. Guests at our Orange Beach and Gulf Shores condos enjoy full kitchens.
Beach Parties & Festivals
For art lovers looking for spring vacation ideas, or those who are just in the market for a good painting, the Orange Beach Art Festival takes place in March every year. The festival features live music, great food from local restaurants, and an art contest. Artists and judges come from around the country to participate. If you're young at heart, or you think you just might enjoy throwing fish, the infamous Interstate Mullet Toss Beach Party has been taking place in April for almost 30 years. Join others from around the country (really!) in partying and throwing mullet fish across the state line. This is also a family event. The children's mullet toss starts at 10 am. The Hangout Music Festival is another spring event held right on the beach for a weekend in May. This festival happens right around college graduation and has featured famous groups such as the Black Keys, Jack Johnson, and Kings of Leon.
